Modular Mangrove Defense

The Living Seawall is a modular, low-tech coastal defense system that restores mangrove ecosystems while supporting critical water infrastructure. Designed for rapid deployment in Tuvalu’s erosion-prone zones, the system uses interlocked hexagonal planters stabilized by sandbags and integrates two utility lines: one for desalinated water and one for rain-fed community tap distribution.
